5 Ways to Shake Up Your Work from Home Routine

5 Ways to Shake Up Your Work from Home Routine.jpg

This last year has felt like it has lasted for about five years, doesn’t it? While there are some definite benefits to being able to work from home during the pandemic (less exposure to communicable diseases, no tempting donuts in the break room, etc.), it is very easy for our routines to grow stagnant and repetitive. Check out these tips to shake up your routine and keep things feeling fresh and fun!

•   Make your environment more fun! When we are surrounded by co-workers, we tend to behave ourselves a little more to avoid the risk of being perceived badly. However, if you are working at home alone, there is no one to misconstrue your behavior so you can relax a little. Turn up your favorite music, take a ten minute mental break and read a chapter of your book, or do a few stretches at your desk to loosen up your posture.

•   Treat yourself to new treats. One of the advantages to working from home is saving money if you are the type of person who used to eat out for lunch every day. However, we have all gotten stuck in cooking ruts at one time or another, which can make meals feel a little redundant. The solution? Treat yourself to some new treats! Check out our blog for keto-friendly recipes, try out a meal delivery service like Hello Fresh or Blue Apron, or indulge in a take out delivery once a week.

•   Change your working hours. Some meetings are not movable, but if possible, consider mixing up your routine by shifting your start time an hour or two forward or backward. You could take a longer lunch so you can fit in a walk around the block, or if you feel you work best at night, consider taking a dinner break and getting back to work for an hour or two to power through the close of your day.

•   Get more sleep. This one feels like a no brainer, but get a little more snoozing in if you can! Without a morning commute, you might be able to stay in bed for a few more minutes and we could all benefit from a little more sleep. This, coupled with a can of Verve, could leave you feeling super powered and ready to conquer your day!

•   Put on real pants. We all enjoy the comfort of pajama pants or leggings, but putting on real pants can help trick your brain into feeling more alert and energized (not to mention more human instead of the couch-human hybrid some of us have felt like for the last year).
