Heart-Healthy Berry Banana Smoothie featuring 3 Second Salad

This heart-healthy smoothie is rich in antioxidants, fiber, and essential nutrients, making it an excellent choice to support heart health. Feel free to adjust the ingredients to suit your taste preferences and dietary needs (and be sure to talk to your doctor before making any major dietary changes).

 

Ingredients:

•   1 ripe banana

•   1 cup of mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)

•   1/2 cup of spinach or kale leaves

•   1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt

•   1 tablespoon of chia seeds or ground flaxseeds

•   1 cup of almond milk or any preferred milk (unsweetened)

•   1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)

•   1 serving of 3 Second Salad

•   Ice cubes (optional)

 

Directions:

1.      Peel and slice the ripe banana. Rinse the berries and spinach or kale leaves thoroughly.

2.      In a blender, combine the sliced banana, mixed berries, spinach or kale leaves, Greek yogurt, chia seeds or flaxseeds, almond milk, and beadlets from one serving of 3 Second Salad.

3.      If you prefer a sweeter taste, add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to the blender.

4.      Blend all the ingredients until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. If desired, add a few ice cubes and blend again for a colder smoothie.

5.      Pour the heart-healthy smoothie into a glass. Optionally, garnish with a few berries or a slice of banana. Sip and enjoy this nutritious and delicious treat!
